Many of us know about the problems that plague the environment. Pollution, climate change, exploitation of raw resources, loss of habitat, extinction of species… all of these seem so huge that it sometimes feels like there’s nothing we can do against the slow but inevitable destruction of Planet Earth’s natural beauty. 🙁

But it doesn’t have to be that way. Our actions, no matter how small, matter. Following that belief, the team here at Borneo Eco Tours gathered in solidarity one Friday afternoon to put up their pledges – all in the name of sustainability.

The pledges weren’t anything big or drastically life-changing. Most were just little changes to the stuff we do in everyday life – things that we should or should not be doing for our and the environment’s good anyway! By writing these things down and putting them up on the Pledge Wall, everyone has a  chance to contribute to sustainability efforts… while also showcasing their creativity 😉

The Pledge Wall reminds each and every one of us to give environmental issues a proverbial kick on the rear.
Some, like this one, were very poignant - showing our planet suffering and in need of our help. The big R's - Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle are important in making sure that Earth's precious resources are properly conserved.
Others kept it simple, focusing their efforts on the things they know they are capable of impacting! The cosmetics industry produces harmful chemicals that affect not only the environment, but our health as well. It is important to push for more eco-friendly means in such businesses.
Yes, even something as simple as refusing plastic bags when you do your shopping can have a lasting impact on the environment. Well done!
Our team members can get pretty comprehensive too! This pledge made special mention to spread the message to family members, which is awesome. Remember, each effort towards sustainability will pay off in the long run, especially if you get others to join in as well.
We love our colours, don't we? Check out these creatively placed pledges that focus on many different aspects of sustainability. If you're not sure you can keep up you can always just stick with one. But we're not gonna stop anyone from going all-out to protect our planet ;)
It's great seeing a lot of like-minded people in BET - at the very least, we'd like ourselves to be the first to take action and change in the name of sustainability. Keep it up, guys!

Feeling inspired? You don’t need a big ol’ fancy wall to hang your pledge on – you can always write it down on a simple note (go for eco-friendly paper if you’re concerned about the impact these notes can have on the environment!) and post it somewhere you’re likely to see on a daily basis.

The sustainability practices here at Borneo Eco Tours didn’t just come suddenly – it has been a long and sometimes challenging journey, but we’re finally starting to see the principles of eco-living take root in almost everything we do. It will take work, but if you’re willing to uphold your promise in the name of sustainability, you’re already on the path towards a cleaner, greener environment.
